The BOAT TRIP
OF THE ISLAND OF STROMBOLI
starts from the shingly Beach of
Scari. From the boat you can admire
the beautiful fine sandy black Beach
of Ficogrande. About a mile past
Ficogrande, there is the cliff of
Strombolicchio, which i also a
lighthouse that be climbed up by 200
steps. Sailing to the end of the
northern side of the Island, we
approach the Sciara del Fuoco
(Street of Fire), the famous black
bowl where for centuries, the
spectacular lava flows of the
volcano have come down. At night,
you can watch the activity of
Stromboli. Proceeding around the
island, we get to Ginostra,
inhabited by only 50 people. They
move on foot, like in the old days
or carried by mules.
