Night excursion to the Stromboli craters with Vulcanological Guide

From Volcano to Stromboli, the trekking package offered by Clarissa Viaggi is the ideal and economical solution for the tourist sportsman of mountain climbing who are on vacation on the island of Vulcan.

During the Spring/Summer season from the Port of Levante, our motorboats embark passengers to visit Stromboli to climb the volcano Stromboli.

The climbing package is a special tour overnight stay is needed on the island of Stromboli. A boat will be available for the group of participants and will transfer from Vulcano to Stromboli, with a short stop of about 1 hour in Panarea.

 According to some scholars, Stromboli seems to have been the last island of the archipelago that has emerged from the sea for more than 2500 years. The climbing to Stromboli follows several trails on dirt terrain immersed in a thick vegetation.

 Stromboli climbs can only be accessed by a Vulcanological Guide as foreseen by Law, groups cannot exceed 20 participants and can ot stay more than 80 people simultaneously on the crater

 Climbing to reach the summit of Stromboli is not a simple walk because of steep paths and high temperatures in the summer months, which is why we recommend climbing the Stromboli crater in the spring or fall months, in summer departures will be almost at sunset.

 Stromboli trekking is not recommended for people with asthmatic, cardiopathic problems. A recommended itinerary for these people is the climb up to the Stromboli observatory, about 400m s.l.m.

Stromboli trekking package program starting from Lipari:

 Before arriving at the port of Panarea you will admire the small archipelago with the islets of Dattilo, Lisca Bianca, LiscaNera, after a few minutes you will approach the port of San Pietro di Panarea with landing and small stop to allow hikers to visit the center of 'Island and optional lunch (payable) at discounted restaurants

 The group will be delivered to the Vulcanological Guide that will guide the group of participants along the path to reach the summit of Stromboli. 

The Vulcanological Guide will provide you with detailed information on the path to the volcano's crater, which will test the clothing and equipment of the trekking participants.

 Hikers will need to have a backpack to keep two replacement t-shirts, anti-wind jacket and a flashlight with spare batteries, and you will also need to put in the backpack a small short water supply (minimum 2 liters), sandwiches, fruit, Chocolate and clothing is advised to wear a long trouser, a sweatshirt and hiking boots.

 Hikers who do not have equipment and other benefits for climbing the Stromboli crater can rent them on site before leaving.

 The departure times of the excursions to the Stromboli crater varies according to the period, during the months of July and August they start mainly between 16:30 and 17:30.

 The round trip is covered in 5/6 hours, about 3 hours to reach the crater, 40 minutes’ walk to the crater and 2 hours to the descent. 

For safety reasons, the volcanological guide reserves the ultimate decision to climb to Stromboli according to weather conditions, equipment and physical conditions of individual hikers.

 Before departure, each participant in the excursion has the obligation to sign a release in which he declares he is in good health and accepts that the climb to Stromboli entails a certain degree of risk.

 Departure and return will be from Piazza San Vincenzo.

 When returning to the base of Piazza San Vincenzo, an officer will guide the hikers to the port of Stromboli for embarkation and return on the island of Lipari.
